A Blaze Adventure in Eclectica

Eclectica by Maddy is one of the most beautiful places that I've seen on Second Life. Starring on the Destination Guide and Top Picks, you can definitely see why it was chosen. As a family, we love to find new and exciting places to explore. We love beautiful and unique, no matter what the theme would be. Eclectica is a 2 homestead sims filled with trails, photo moments and you could spend a good hour just walking around and seeing everything that the creator has placed down.

When you teleport to the Private Idyll sim, you will start at the very bottom section of the sim. Is it not just a flat land, there are a few hills to climb so get your boots on. You will have a choice to go to either the Lighthouse or the Hidden Cave. Since it was Aussie Daddy day, Kymber let daddy Blaze pick; of course we went to the Hidden Cave.

On our way there, we took the opportunity to take some pictures with some elephants, just casually chilling in the water! We can tell you now, the elephants are friendly enough to let us take photos so close to them. We went over a wooden trunk bridge, up a steep hill and then we came to the opening of the Hidden Cave!

You wouldn't of guessed what we found deep, inside the cave! A HUGE crystal, or a few of them. We decided on not taking them home...our pockets were too small, but we were able to get up close and personal with them. Maybe we'll come back with an excavator.

As we got out of the cave, we stumbled upon a beach and at that beach was mermaid cove! A small, little underwater retreat - of course, Peanut Blaze LOVED it immediately. We were lucky enough to meet the owner of the sim while she was readjusting things at the mermaid cove. A nice woman that appreciated our compliments.

We made our way up the huge mountain to the lighthouse. There's some interesting and beautiful places along the way. We won't tell you what we found in the lighthouse, you'll just have to go and explore it for yourself! It really is worth the trek up there. All we will say is, there's a bed there so you can lay down and relax!

The 2nd sim is just as amazing as the 1st one. The main two locations are the ruins and the forest. The 2nd sim has a lot more photo opportunities than the first one. It is a lot more designed for the parents of a family. A lot of couple poses, romantic furniture and dancing. A great place to take your partner in crime. The ruins has to be our favorite out of the two main areas on this sim. It's a beautiful and peaceful place. Lots of color and lots of trees.

All-in-all, the owner and creator did an amazing job with just two homesteads. Worth the look and exploration time, and I'm sure you'll come home with a lot of photos and memories.

Don't forget to visit the website where you can get more information about the sim.

Haunted Mansion

In the Blaze household, we don't allow any horror movies (Sorry, Daddy Blaze), so when Halloween comes around, we tend to go all out. Halloween has got to be one of our favorite holidays - It must be all the candy, all the costumes, all the spookiness and of course, the pumpkin carving! When trying to find a haunted house, we came across THIS one! You tend to come across some really cheesy ones, but The Haunted House Ride has got to be one of the best ones around Second Life.

Unfortunately, the chairs could only hold two people, so Daddy Blaze had to climb on top and dangle his legs in front of everyone - it was either that, or running in the back. If you have seen 'The Haunted Mansion' (With Eddie Murphy) or been on the 'Haunted Mansion Ride' at the Disney Parks, you'll definitely recognize the references through-out this ride! It is well planned out, well built and you can really tell that they really tried to give you the "haunted" atmosphere.

The atmosphere of this place is great. There are a lot of photo opportunities and the ride doesn't rush its way through the whole thing - you will have plenty of time to stop and see each detail.

There are some genuinely amazing decorations here; from statues, moving paintings, to the fortune teller ball that resembles the one from the movie. The ride takes about 10 - 15 minutes, but since we love to roleplay and wander around, it took us more than 30 minutes.

If you and your family are looking for a haunted mansion to kick off the Halloween month, be sure to check this beauty out!

Under The Sea - A Magical Mermaid World

If you haven't seen the Little Mermaid...where have you been?! The Blaze family is a BIG fan of Little Mermaid (I'm sure the boys are, too, but will they admit it?!) We were all browsing through Facebook, and came across 'Under The Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid Ride' and it's EXACTLY that. If you've been in Second Life for awhile, you'll come across rides that...aren't so good, so you always have to go into it with an open-mind, but this ride blew our minds away.  Kymber actually made us ride it 3 times the first time.

As you step on the sim, you will be greeted with a familiar face, lounging around in a mountain (perfect Kodak moment). Before you enter the ride, be sure to put your HUD on, this will allow you to be able to hear the amazing and familiar sounds during the whole ride (A MUST).

As you enter, there will be a short wait at a line, and then you'll be greeted by a 3-seat rezzer. Don't be afraid if you don't hear any music, it starts when the ride starts! (personal experience). As soon as you sit down, the ride starts and from there...well, you'll just have to experience it for yourself. Words can't describe how amazing it really is.

Don't forget to sing along to all of the songs, and don't get those words wrong! - Like Daddy Blaze!!!
Poor Daddy one day he will remember all the words...at least he tries.

This ride is located on the Tiptoes sim, so you can shop as well!  Be sure to show your gratitude by tipping the sign on the wall, it was more than worth any $L we donated!

Lots of Love,

The Blaze Family
